The Red Cedar River

red-cedar-msu-IMG_1647.JPGThe Red Cedar river at Michigan State University. Loved hanging out here (by the admin building) when I was a student (and after). Taken from the Wells Hall bridge.

Taking the train in Chicago

quincy-chicago.JPGSomeone help me, is this a train stop, an “L” (“EL”) stop or what is the proper term for this in Chicago?

So I love public transport, Detroit is severely missing it, mostly because everyone owns their own car and one for each of the kids too (I’m exaggerating, but just a little).

This looks like it was taken at Quincy station and I’d say I’m facing north (but I could be mistaken on that).

I liked the interesting bug

IMG_1065-some-bug.jpgI don’t have any idea what kind of bug this is or what kind of flowers. But I thought the bug came out okay for an iPhone 4 camera and the focus was interesting. There were some better looking flowers, but I couldn’t get the bug to pose over there.

This was taken on Hines Drive near Telegraph. There is a bunch of flowers (and wild stuff) in a plot on the far side of the soccer field closer to telegraph.

Detroit River Sunset

sunset-detroit-IMG_1493.JPGLove all the oranges and that you can see the birds, the contrails, the Ambassador Bridge and a tiny bit of Windsor, Canada…

I’m thinking that I took this from Belle Isle (probably at Sunset Park), but I’m not 100% certain (wish I had the GPS in my digital SLR).

Not the wedding photos I was expecting

For some reason this wedding party decided to take some pictures in an abandoned building. I wish I’d gotten my camera little quicker to get a few more snapshots of them walking away from the scene (with maybe some better lighting). I thought the bridal party looked kind of interesting in this empty building.
