Sometimes people get in my photos, but I’ll probably be using this when they are subjects of my photos.
I really thought that this photo was not going to be a good one, I hadn’t even lined up the camera on the tripod yet (I did straighten this) and I took the to see how the timing came out. I took a few more photos that were more thought out / planned and this one turned out to be one of my favorite photos.
f/3.5 for 2.5 seconds at ISO 320, I was zoomed all the way out to 18mm, I’m assuming this is my 18-200mm and not the 18-55mm, but I’m not certain.
The is Feta Sleeze from one of the Detroit Derby Girls roller derby teams, she’s my hero! If you’ve never gone to the derby you need to go sometime. They play on a flat track at Masonic Temple in Detroit. I love the sense of motion and action in this image.
I have to admit this isn’t actually a photo, it’s a screen capture from a video, but I posted it online and every time I see it in the photostream it catches my eye so I decided to post it here. It took me a few minutes to find it since I forgot it’s not actually a photo. Here’s a link to a short video I made on YouTube.
This was taken with my Canon SX260 which is a great pocket camera (great zoom, great video, and built-in GPS).
This is the old carousel at night during the Christmas Holiday Nights festival. It got very cold, but they had caroling, fireworks and all sorts of other stuff going one.
I think it’s looking like a lot of motion for a 1/4 second exposure…
But I really like the way this photo came out. The colors and the way the sun washes out part of the right hand side of the photo.
This is the start of the river from the big falls in Montezuma, Costa Rica.
Someone help me, is this a train stop, an “L” (“EL”) stop or what is the proper term for this in Chicago?
So I love public transport, Detroit is severely missing it, mostly because everyone owns their own car and one for each of the kids too (I’m exaggerating, but just a little).
This looks like it was taken at Quincy station and I’d say I’m facing north (but I could be mistaken on that).
For some reason this wedding party decided to take some pictures in an abandoned building. I wish I’d gotten my camera little quicker to get a few more snapshots of them walking away from the scene (with maybe some better lighting). I thought the bridal party looked kind of interesting in this empty building.
